When we arrived to the last bus stop three hours later, we realized we were about three miles from our hotel, at the wrong place to buy our return bus tickets, and with no way to find a ride to the bus station. We started our walk along the road and lucked out by finding a taxi. We quickly got our return tickets and we found the best taxi driver in the world. Literally.
Our driver’s name was Carlos and he easily became the reason we had such a good time this weekend. Carlos gave us the best recommendations for places to go to and we made a great friend. We spent the day the BEAUTIFUL national park and…saw a million monkeys! We actually laughed as we walked by all the tourists staring and gawking at the animals…this was what we did about two months ago...but apparently now, like Carlos told us, we’re basically ticas!
Carlos took us to the best place for dinner, Ronny’s, which had the most amazing view of the ocean and the sunset. We had amazing meals and spent a few hours enjoying the locals. Our hotel was great and we had small restaurant right next to the pool.
These weekends when everything comes together at the last minute really have been my favorite. I have learned my lesson and I only drank bottled water. You could say I’m really learning a lot here. Only two weeks left...
