As we drove up the mountains we stopped for lunch in a small town and spent some time walking around. When we re-boarded the bus we were expecting a twenty minute drive until we reached our destination, but instead our driver pulled over onto the side of the road. We jumped out of the bus and walked along the side of the road by a bridge. Our tour guide surprised us with a beautiful waterfall! We hurriedly hopped down the path until we were standing right next to the waterfall. One by one, we lined up to jump into the beautiful water. There were locals playing in the water and boys (probably no older than 10) climbing some pretty dangerous fallen trees up different parts of the waterfall. I grabbed by go-pro and jumped into the water, screaming, of course. It was a rush of adrenaline and something I can say I have never done before. Cliff jumping? It’s cool. Bridge jumping? Eh. Jumping into a waterfall?! NO WORDS!
There was a rope hanging from a tree that some brave people grabbed onto and “tarzaned” over the water. I was too nervous but eventually said to myself, “Pura vida!” I grabbed the rope, jumped into the air, and screamed all the way to the water. It was the coolest experience I have had here so far.
Every weekend something new and exciting happens. I get these nerves when there’s an option to do something I haven’t experienced before, but I am rewarded each time I just embrace it.
