It’s crazy to think of all the new things I have experienced in such a short amount of time here. I have been able to appreciate everything here and learn from it. At certain times, things weren’t always so easy. Sure, I had plenty of meltdowns and panic attacks. I’m in a FOREIGN country. Kinda normal, I think. However, I was able to plan my own weekend trips and travel around a country on my own with nothing but a bus ticket in hand every weekend. I figured out how to find my way home on countless occasions, I ate some very questionable foods every week, and I enjoyed the beautiful mountains every day.
While I am sad to leave, I am ready to see my friends and family. I can’t wait to see how all my souvenirs fit into my checked bags…that’s going to be a struggle.
So here’s to Costa Rica. Thank you for teaching me what pura vida really means. For showing me that I am capable of much more than I think. For pushing me to my limits and making me break out of my shell. I have never experienced anything like this and I doubt I will again. My first travel abroad experience has been nothing short of an adventure. So, one last time: pura vida.
